Another bad result, however, not a bad display of grit and determination from the lads, we suffered a bit with injuries and players not available to play because of outside commitments.
The first half finished with shields only being 1-0 up, and we were unlucky not to have gone in at half time 1-1 but for a good piece of defencive play by one of the shields defenders clearing the ball off the line from a shot that was definately going in by Duffey, unlucky mate.
At half time Gardiner came on and slotted straight into the centre half position releasing Stewart to go up front.
The game got a bit over competitive in the 2nd half when both side started to put late hard tackles in, sometimes a bit to late, both sides had a booking a piece, with Heardman being the player from the Hawks, in my opinion, he was lucky to stay on the pitch, then after a bit of retaliation a shields player was also booked, unfortunately, towards the end of the game the referee gave a shields player a red card for punching Moffatt in the head.
during a period of 5-10 mins, shields scored 3 more goals. The shields managergave Man of the Match to Moffatt, well done.
Lets look forward to our next league game against Killy Madrid at home, if the lads play with the fire and commitment, hopefully we'll have 3 points in the bag.
