We are out another Cup competition but the result does not do the team justice. From the start the Kestrels attacked and attacked and only good keeping and poor finishing left us with another defeat. Both Annis and Cole both went close in the first few minutes but were thwarted by the keeper and then a free kick was awarded 5 yeards outdide our box and the ball floated into the top of the net for what turned out to be the only goal of the game.
Chance still came and went and with Morris and Taylor battling well and creating chances it seemed only a matter of time before an equaliser came along.
In the second half again, we attacked and created chances but couldn't take them and Comb and Irning playing his first game at the back played really well and kept all Dragons attacks out and neither keeper needed to make a save. Conway battled well and made some good blocks at the back to pick up man of the match but all the action at the other end should have provided a goal with the trickery of Web and McCoy but it never happened.
If the team continues as they have been and with a bit of clinical finishing the corner will be turned sooner rather than later. A ggod effort team with an unfortunate result.
In junior football, should all players be given the same amount of time on the pitch during a game, regardless of ability?
Yes, always. Getting kids involved is the most important thing.
Yes, unless it is an important game.
No. Winning is important at all ages, so the best players should play more often.
